Children and 2nd marriage of John Binks of Broughton?

I've had good success researching John Binks, mainly in "Trove"

I have b1866, married Susanna Wray 1913-06-25, Susanna died 1917-11-04.

I then rather jump to an obituary (He died 12 sep 1929)

Which has:

He married late in life, and lost his first wife shortly after the birth of the second son. Later he married again, and he is survived by his widow and the two boys.

I cannot find the birth of either son, or the second marriage.

Can anyone help?

Some persistent narrowing of search terms has narrowed this result:

to be somewhere between 28/02/1924 and 1/03/1924

Still can't find it in the papers of Trove yet.

Why would you expect that everything is on "TROVE" It is just a Newspaper archive? Obituary or notice of death by the undertaker? Obits are a paid classified service, unless person is of note and these are found in General news. Some newspapers do have an Obits section however.

The NSW bdm has their death recording and references and can be date searched by elimination.
Births after this day less one hundred years are not allowed.
Marriages prior to this day less 50 years are all on NSW BDM.

Neil I agree with your comments.  I note that John BINKS obituary was in The Methodist so not one of the daily newspapers however there was a small obituary in the Sydney Morning Herald which names his brothers

Susannah's headstone - note her date of death is inscribed as 28 Oct 1917 and if you use this exact date to search on NSW BDM it gives a result for her death. Obituary doesn't actually give dates just days of the week.  You need to amend your records for her death.

In 1929 John was survived by his widow and two boys.  I have found this birth and death on the net - BINKS Alfred John DeVere born 1916 Berry, NSW and died 27 Aug 1998.
