Hi All

Any help would be great on this one.

Rob Forth, Plate Layer on the Railways Middlesbrough 1861 looking for records.

I wonder if anyone knows, if there would be any railway employment records 1861 & 1871 ( other census )

Thanks Paul

Hi
I've had a look and i can't see any records for the railway.
His marriage does say he's a railway plate layer-father William farm labourer ,bride Harriet Bolderson widow d of Henry Bolderson farm labourer.

So he must have started before 1861,perhaps his navel record would narrow it down a bit.

I think the Navy info is incorrect 1861 census, I cant find a record of him being in the navy.
Navy - 1861), [Railway/Iron Works] Labourer (1861/71/81)

Wouldn't that be "Navvy"?
I.E. Navigator https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navvy
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Navvy is probably correct.
