June (Mary) Sinclair

My husband and I have hit a brick wall in our research for the family of June (Mary) Sinclair.

All we know is that her family died during the bombing of London in 1940/41. She was half Jewish, born around 1920-1923. In 1939 she went to live on Jersey, Channel Islands, where she was arrested for slapping a German officer. Via Fresnes Prison and Brens internment camp, both in France, she ended up being transported to Ravensbrück concentration camp (Germany) , where she died in 1943.

Who were here parents ? We have looked in the FreeBMD records, FindmyPast, FamilySearch, but none of the June Sinclairs seem to match ..

Any help will be very much appreciated.

How do you know that her family died in 1940/1941 London? (Their names?)

Thank you for your reply.

All the information we have on June (Mary) Sinclair was learned from the Jersey deportation memorial site and a book written by her former neighbour, Mr. Joe Miere, in 1940 Jersey, called "Never To Be Forgotten".

We really hope someone can help solve the mystery of who her family was, so she WILL never be forgotten ..

Like Ray, I am full of questions as to where this info has come from.  The neighbour, presumably knew more about the family, or how would he nave known when and where they died?  Where did her approx year of birth come from? Is it even known if she was born in England, or if her family came over here when she was younger, before the war? Where did the idea she was half jewish come from? If her father was Jewish, then she may have started life with a distinctive Jewish name, but like many others the family changed it to a more anglicised version when they came to England.
Does the June (Mary) name indicate she was known as June, but was really Mary, or known as Mary but really June, or neither?
Plenty of Mary Sinclairs born around 1920/21, but if you know no more about her, I dont know how you would ever rule any out or know if you had found the right one!!!!
