Hi Aussiegirl,  It might be sensible to use RChat's own "search" option and look for posts by Velcro re FRENCH.  I seem to recall many posts re the Western Australia family, but perhaps the posts were on the USA board....

Here's one from the Aussie board

I have now established Mary married Patrick Egan in Perth 1876. They had a son Patrick Joseph on 19 March 1877. They left Australia & arrived in Northampton, Hampshire, Massachusetts in 1879.
Where would I find confirmation of their departure from WA ,please .

On your other current thread I asked if you had checked the signatures from the 1863 marriage with the 1876 marriage.  I also asked about the denomination of the clergy for the 1863 marriage (among other details).   Perhaps you could respond to those questions.  http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=726844.0

Have you checked out the many resources listed at RChat's Western Australia Resources Board?

Re outward bound shipping .... Perhaps you need to determine which port?  I suspect Albany would have been the port in the 1870s.

There has been much discussion re Patrick Egan's depature from WA on RChat and online elsewhere. Perhaps you should consider contacting one of the family members and share efforts:

It may well be that you will need to physically attend and check through the offline records held by the Battye Library.  http://www.slwa.wa.gov.au/find/wa_information/battye_library
