Where's William? William Millington William Frost
« on: Monday 27 July 15 23:57 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I wonder if anyone could help me try and find what happened to William? He would have been my Grandfather's half brother, but as much as he talked of all his older siblings, I don't remember him mentioning a William, Bill, Will etc. I've tried to include as much information as I can...

Born: William Millington on 18 Nov 1901 in Hulme to Georgina Millington (nee Roberts) and John William Millington.
Baptised:  4 Dec 1901 at St Marks in Hulme. Address given 64 Pryme Street.

In 1902 his father dies whilst Georgina (my Great Grandma) is carrying her second child.

17 Feb 1903 William's sister Annie Millington is born. She is baptised on 4 March 1903 at St Gabriel's Hulme and their address is 304 City Road.  Annie then dies in July 1903.

Georgina marries Isaac Frost 25 May 1904. She is living at 304 City Road and Isaac is living at 11 Pine Street.

Georgina has a daughter named Georgina Frost (although she has popped up as Millington too) and she is baptised 26 Oct 1904. Address give is 5 Pine Street.

Amy Frost is born in April 1908 and baptised in May at St Gabriels. The family are still at 5 Pine Street. Amy dies later that year. Amy is the last child I can find of Georgina and Isaac's to be baptised.

Joseph Frost is born 1909 and baptised at St Gabriel's and the family are at 7 Mowbray Street.

1911 Census. The family are living at 9 Mowbray Street. Georgina and Isaac have been married for 7 years. William Millington is showing at Isaac's step-son aged 10.

John Frost is born in 1912 and Alf in 1914.

Isaac enlists for short service for the army in WW1 in September 1914. The family are living at 9 Mowbray Street. William Millington is now listed as William Frost. Isaac was discharged in Nov 1914.

Isaac's army paperwork is the last evidence I can find of William under either surname.

Isaac go on to have Harry (1916), Mary (1919) Cicely (1921) and James (1923 - my Grandfather). None were baptised that I can find. Georgina died in September 1939. My Grandfather always said that she'd said she couldn't face the thought of her boys going off to war and it killed her.

Can anyone help find what happened to William?

Thank you Carole! I feel a little silly now, I've spent hours looking for him. I wonder where he went...

A copy of his death cert will give an address and if his death was reported by a family member that may give you some more clues to work from
