method of reply to messages

 good morning to the RootsChat. com team. I am in dire need of  assistance being one who is from the BC era. I have 2 messages that require replies. May I reply directly to each or must go through the moderator, please advise (dread receiving error messages). Regards

Hi and welcome to Rootschat, if you mean their are 2 threads running by others that you would like to place a reply on, then do as I have just done and click on the "Reply" button, and then click "Post " when you have written a reply.

Just go ahead and reply directly.  You don't have to go through a moderator.
Wiltshire:  Banks, Taylor

Gloucestershire:  Barnard, Marsh, Crossman
Bristol:  Banks, Duddridge, Barnard
Down:  Ennis, McGee
Wicklow:  Chapman, Pepper

Just to add a little more detail to the other replies ....

There is a blue highlighted REPLY button on the right near the bottom of the page. Click on that and a box will come up which you type your message in.

Then on the bottom right below this box you will see a browny coloured box which says POST. Click on that and your message will appear on the thread.

You will get the hang of it in no time. Good luck.  :)

That is a good point.

If you wish to exchange private messages with any member click on their name on the left hand side of the page and you will be taken to another page where you can write a Personal Message (which we usually call a PM) :)

Of course, if you've asked for help, then your reply should be public, because other Rootschatters may also be able to add more to your request, and they need to see what info you've already been given.
