I am trying to find further information on my Great-Grandmother Jane DALTON & her children who emigrated to Canada on the SS Sardinia arriving on the 13th Aug 1892. All the family were born in DUFTON,Westmorland.
Jane died on the 18th Dec 1896 in TORONTO.
The children were:- Mary J DALTON b.1866; 
Joseph DALTON b. 1868, d. Kings, NEW YORK 1933;
Hannah DALTON b.1871, m. Henry J RAPKIN,1898,YORK,Ontario;   
William DALTON,b.1877, m. Marrion MAIN,1902,YORK,Ontario;   
Freddie DALTON,b.1879, m. Mary Jane MOOREHEAD, 1918, PALMERSTON,Wellington,Ontario.

Hannah Rapkin born 1872 Dufton England passed away 6 April 1937 York Ontario aged 65 years.
Informant was her son Maurice Rapkin - Burial Prospect Cemetery. 8 th April 1937

Maurice Dalton Rapkin (son of Hannah Dalton and Henry Josiah Rapkin) married Helen Ivadele Baker - 4 September 1923 York Ontario.

Maurice and Rita Rapkin appear on the Canada Voters List 1958 - York Ontario - Occupation Radio and Tel - 34 U Wineva Avenue Toronto.

Private member ancestry has an obit for Maurice from the Toronto Star 22 December 1964.

Short notice in the Toronto Star about Hannah Dalton Rapkin's death.  (also a regular obit in the deaths section).  Mother of Maurice Rapkin (program director at CKCL radio station.)   Resident in Toronto for 50 years.  Wife of Henry J Rapkin.  Died on April 6, 1937 at her home. 32 Woodington Ave.  Was in her 67th year. Born in Dufton Westmoreland...came to Canada with her mother, brothers and sisters.  Surviving are her husband, her son Maurice, brother William Dalton of Toronto and brother Joseph Dalton of Rochester, New York.   Interment Prospect Cemetery.

Short notice about Fred's death in the Globe and Mail newspaper - July 23 1927, page 3.

He died in his sleep in the early morning hours of July 22, 1927... at his home 85 Glen Grove Avenue West.  He was in his 48th year.  He was a member of the Dalton Manufacturing Company, until recently - when he became associated with the Hampton Manufacturing Company of Montreal.  He was well known.  He is survived by his widow, brother Joe of Rochester, brother William of Toronto, sisters Miss Mary Dalton and Mrs Henry Rapkin of Toronto.

Maurice Dalton Rapkin died at his home (34 Wineva Avenue) on Dec 20 1964.  He was a writer and producer.  Husband of the late Reta Lackey.

Reta's obituary is also in the paper.  She died at their home on Aug 25, 1964.  INterment St. Johns Norway cemetery.

Mary Jane Dalton died at her late residence 17 Teddington Park.  Daughter of the late James and Jane Dalton of Dufton, Westmoreland.  Sister of Joseph of Rochester, William and Mrs H Rapkin of Toronto.  INterment Prospect Cemetery.
