"Just" a name...
« on: Monday 17 August 15 16:47 BST (UK) »
I am attempting to transcribe a 1827 will and
am having trouble with some names.

The will is the 1827 will of John Everett, and can be seen by searching here:
http://www.norfolksources.norfolk.gov.uk/DserveNS/index.htm

The first tricky one is attached; it's something like "Just". The husband is John XXXX of Norwich.

I have attached the three instances.

A long s is always before the small s, not after.

If you look at page 66, there is a sentence "and income thereof upon trust to"
The writing of the word "trust" is basicaly identical to the word in question with the additional "r".

Familysearch has a John Just marrying a Mary Ringer 1817 in Norwich.

That shows nicely on FreeReg;

County    NFK
Place    Norwich
Church name    St Stephen
Register type
Register entry number    116
Marriage date    29 Jul 1817
Groom forename    John
Groom surname    JUST
Groom condition    bachelor
Groom parish    St Stephen
Bride forename    Mary
Bride surname    RINGER
Bride condition    spinster
Bride parish    Shottisham In The County Of Norfolk
Witness1 forename    G
Witness1 surname    BOLTON
Witness2 forename    John
Witness2 surname    JUST
Notes    License

And the rest of "my" Ringer family come from Shottsham, so that's confirmed. Thank to all.
