Brown's Buildings Tynemouth /North Shields
« on: Wednesday 26 August 15 16:58 BST (UK) »
I have a death certificate dated 1866 where the death took place in Brown's Buildings. Could anyone identify where they stood.

This was the wife of a merchant seaman so thought it might be somewhere along the dockside.

Many thanks

Alan

Searching on the 1861 census there is a Browns Buildings at  Front Street, Cullercoats, Tynemouth.  The street is on modern maps

Many thanks Stan

That also probably explains another death certificate. The mother died in Brown's Buildings in January 1866; a daughter died at 4 Hudson Street (according to her death certificate) in October the same year. Presumably the same premises.
