Hello, looking for information on my GG Grandfather, can't find records in the census until 1871, looking for his parent's names as we don't know them or if he had any siblings

any assistance is appreciated

Where did his birthdate of specifically December come from?

Who did he name as father when he married?

thanks, that looks like him, Edward is my great-grandfather and we know he was born in Tilton

how would I go about looking for earlier references and his parent's names?

Looks as if his marriage to Sarah was a 2nd marriage (and looking at later censuses he has a 3rd!)

John Evans son in law married 26 labourer bn Pitchcott Bucks
Jane Evans  wife 26 bn Owlswick
Alfred Evans  son 9 bn Longwick

Doesn't brilliantly tie up, but it looks as if Alfreds age should read 9mths, or 1 year, rather then 9 years, in light of age of his parents plus the 1881 census!

Wow, so married first to Jane, then to Sarah, who I'd assume raised Alfred, and after he had a family with Sarah he married again?

and then Jane's maiden name would be Durning?

and that baptism puts paid to the december birthday...
