Catherine Green missing parents- Bolton

Hi everyone,

My ancestor was named Catherine Green. She was born in about 1807 in Bolton, Lancashire, according to the 1851 census. She was dead by 1853. She married Jacob Woof of Manchester, by license, in 1835 at the Bolton le Moors church. Witnesses appear to be Sarah Brown and John Holme, but difficult to read. I know plenty about Jacob Woof, who proved easy to trace.

Catherine managed to have several children before dying:
Mary Ann Woof 1836–1904 m. Frederick Vetter
Joseph Woof 1837–
Harriet Woof 1838–
Richard Woof 1841–1888
Thomas Green Woof 1842–1912
Joseph Sandwick Woof 1844–1845
Fanny Woof 1845–1928 n. Michael Oliver Gaggs
Catherine Woof 1849–1876

I know that at least the last child, Catherine, was baptised Methodist.
I can't figure out who Catherine Green's parents might have been. I found one baptism in Bolton at a Catholic church, but this seems unlikely and a bit random considering her husband was Protestant and considering all of the kids were either Anglican or Methodist. Parents are Thomas and Mary Green for that baptism in 1807.

Another baptism was to Hannah and James Green in 1806, at a Methodist church. Hannah and James are not names given to any of Catherine's kids so this also seems a bit unlikely.

Please help- this is beyond my expertise, clearly.

An update: I figured out that Catherine had a sister named Sarah Green, who was born about 1808, and a sister named Mary Green born about 1799.

Yes I have, nothing came up for me. I also searched Ancestry.

Just checked again and can find no baptism for Mary, Sarah, and Catherine all to the same parents. Which leads me to believe maybe they were in fact non-conformists. Census records confirm that all 3 were born in Bolton.

Okay I found a 1799 baptism at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Bolton for a Mary Green, and another for a Margaret Green in 1803, to Thomas and Mary Green, parents.

I found a Thomas and Mary Green living in North Meols, Lancashire with daughter Harriet Green, age 20. Only reason I suspect this could be my family is that Harriet is a slightly more unusual name and Catherine Green named her daughter Harriet. Also Sarah Green, Catherine's sister, lived in North Meols. And finally so did Harriet Woof, Catherine's daughter, in her later years.

Now am unsure how to prove any of this...

Hi GrannyM, looks somewhat promising, but I have a couple doubts-

-Sarah Green, in every single census, is born in 1808 or 1809, so seems strange that she'd be that far off her entire life (by 5 years)
-The names Peter and Elizabeth are not found in my tree for this family. Sarah and Mary's kids were not named Peter or Elizabeth, and neither were Catherine's.

So I'm not sure. I'll try to trace the kids in this family.
