Macks - Hanover

I am looking for records to verify the identity of Henry Christopher Adolphus Macks.   

He was married in Australia on 2nd April 1874 and the marriage certificate indicates that he was born in Hanover.
His fathers name is listed as Henry August Macks who was a Carpenter.  There was no mothers name listed and his age was not listed.

On the birth certificate for his son (born 17th March 1875), he is listed as being 32 years old and from Germany.

I did find some “matches” for Henry Christopher Adolphus Macks in some public trees in ancestry.com which state he was born on 18th June 1842 in Hanover, Stadt Hannover, Niedersachsen, Germany but requests to the family tree owners who have populated this information have gone unanswered so I do not know their source and not sure how I can verify if this is in fact true or not.
