Isabella Dodds (Bevitt) Where is she buried?
« on: Wednesday 09 September 15 05:04 BST (UK) »
Hi Everyone,

A few weeks ago, I posted a similar topic to this one. I am look for the burial place of Isabella Bevitt (married John George Dodds). Her mother was Mary Gager. She was born November 4, 1804, in London and died on April 29, 1860, in Wee Waa, New South Wales. I was wondering if you would be able to help me track down her final resting spot.

Thanks again everyone :)

From her death cert, what information is given to the question "When and where buried; name of undertaker" as that should usually give you the burial details.

I only have a index of her death. I guess if i buy her death certificate it will clear everything up.

It should, but perhaps wait a couple of days in case there's info posted from other RChatters.  I  noticed the registration on the NSW BDM online index is under DODD, not Dodds...  Back in the 1860s the NSW BDM districts were quite extensive, so the Wee Waa district was not just Wee Waa itself...

I think there's an image of the registration at an online public tree.  If so, then it is one of the older style registrations, long before the internet popularised family history.

I may be duplicating Cup of Life's post.   :)

Cheers,  JM

... "Isabella died from "general debility" on the 29th of April, 1860, her age on her gravestone given as 59 yrs. She was buried by her husband John in a "lone grave" on the banks of the Namoi River between Come by Chance and Goangera, her death being registered at Wee Waa. There is a headstone to mark her last resting place, erected by her daughter Mrs Henry (Caroline) Keys. "To Perpetuate the Memory of One Kind Mother"....
