Robert Mcneillage McGhie

I am hoping to find baptism or a birth entry for Robert Mcneillage McGhie born either 1911 (POW records) or 1915 (Merchant Navy records).

He was in the Merchant Navy before WW2.
Then joined the 77th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment (RA), possibly 1939.
The 77th were sent to Java in early 1942, but were captured by the Japanese within 4 weeks.

He moved to the Wirral by 1963, when he married for the 2nd time, and then syed in The Wirral until his death.

1 match comes up on S P for a Robert McGhie 1915 in Dumbarton but unfortunately you can only view the images up to 1914 ...So you would need to order his birth certificate

There is also 1 match for a marriage S P male surname McGhie female surname McNeilage 1910 Dumbarton which going by the names could possibly be the parents

Details gleaned from his family.

I shall pass the message on to them, that they probably need to order the Birth Certificate.

Robert was also married before (Scotland, I presume?) and there was at least a son from that marriage.
Unfortunately, family splits and rows mean that earlier info is hard to come by!
