Found them in Worth Street Manchester in 1871. It gives Johns occupation as a warehouseman and they have 4 children all born Manchester the eldest being Thomas age 8.

The occupation on the 1862 Accrington marriage cert for John Phillips is Engine tenter.

1861 John and Ann Phillips are in Manchester and appear to be already married - he is working in a warehouse  RG9 /2958 f73 p48

They appear to be a different couple  :-\

I'm sure the Worth Street one is the right one.  They had 4 children one of them being my great-grandmother Jemima and the eldest Thomas.  I don't quite understand the earlier marriage, does this mean her first marriage was to Patrick O'Brien, where does Elizabeth Lind come in?

I'm really confused now!!  Jemima was born in July 1866 in Manchester that's right but I have her mother has Ann Gallager unless that is another name if she had been widowed.
