Brylio
John Colin Caldwell was my grandfather. After training and qualifying as a doctor in Edinburgh he  spent much of his working life in South Africa : Johannesburg, where my mother Joan Campbell Caldwell (03/27/1915 to 08/01/2005)  and her two older siblings Marguerite (Rita) Stewart Caldwell (01/09/1905 to 26/10/1990) and Eric Dick (Dick) Caldwell (07/06/1909 to 07/11/2000) were born, and Uganda. Rita, Dick and Joan were all educated in Edinburgh. Rita and Joan became physiotherapists, Dick became a doctor and served in the Royal Navy before during and after the war, ending his naval career as Vice Admiral Sir Dick Caldwell,  Medical Director General - he and his wife had no children. Rita eventually moved to Australia with her three children, Rusalka (Margaret) and twins Peter and Michael.  Peter and Margaret live in Adelaide. My mother Joan's first husband Michael Rawlins was killed in 1943, there months  before their daughter Susan Howard Rawlins  (01/17/1943 to 03/16/2012) was born.  Joan married Stanley Horace Kelly in 1948 and had my brother John Simon Kelly (06/16/1950) and me (Katharine Kelly (07/01/1951). Simon and his wife live in London, I live in Edinburgh.
