« on: Tuesday 06 October 15 16:32 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find out the maiden name of my gg grandmother Martha Ann Humphries born abt 1856 in Weston according to census's. She married William Hatcher in 1882 in London Her father was Edward Humphries a labourer and her mother was Ellen Sarah. If anyone can find anything that would be amazing.

Many thanks

From FreeBMD:

Marriages, March qtr 1856
Bath Registration District     vol 5c, page 1044

Humphries, Edward
+ and on the same page +
Taylor, Ellen Sarah

There is a Weston in the Bath district (NB it's not Weston-Super-Mare!)
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Thank you very much. That's really great. Would you be able to find out anything on Edwards parents ? You are obviously a lot better at this than me. I know Edward was born abt 1836

Many thanks Kazza

There's a possible Edward Humphries, Weston Somerset baptism 15 Jan 1832 - Parents John & Sarah.

Looking at Sarah Ellen Taylor, there's an 1851 Ellen Taylor (22) b Weston Super Mare & Maurice Taylor (56 widowed) b Worle. Living at Regent Street, Albion Baths.
In 1841 WSM, Albion Cottage, there's an Ellen Taylor (12) with 8 siblings, and no obvious sign of parents.

That depends if you are looking at WSM as opposed to Weston near Bath.

I'm not familiar with the geography, but Weston Batheaston, is different to Weston Super Mare & Weston in Gordano.
The 1832 Edward Humphries Weston, Somerset baptism, may still be correct.
