Hi Folks
I am looking for a Sarah Dyer nee name unknown, who maybe the mother of George Dyer,born 1847
in Notting Hill, Kensington, Middlesex. died 1919, Middx.
In the 1861 census Sarah is given as widow,  given as head, her birth is given as Birmingham,Warwickshire, her abode is as 36 Bulmer Terr, Kensington, occ as a Laundress aged 62
George aged 14,  occ as a tallow chandler,born Middx.
I would be grateful for any help given.........

Are either of them found in 1851?

Yes they are - also a daughter Eliza aged 7 also b Notting Hill.  Sarah shown as a widow

What is the name and occupation of George's father on his marriage cert

Thank you for replying.

I did post about a week ago re; George Dyer as I was looking for his marriage to Susan Harris
and the general opinion was that they did not marry.........

If you just search for Sarah Dyer born Birmingham 1813 it may be easier for you

Just a hunch but I wonder if she was really widowed?

In both 1851 and 1861 she was living at the same address in Kensington in the Kensington Registration District and there are only 2 male deaths in that RD between 1846-1851

1847 - George Woodland Dyer and John Charles William Dyer

JCW was 38 and address on burial was Paddington

No burial details found for GW but here's his marriage and your Sarah would have been too young to have married in 1828
