Liverpool - Struck by Lightning - Patrick Kavanagh (Born 14th Feb 1869)

Looking for any leads/information on my Grand Uncle Patrick Kavanagh born 14th Feb 1869, Burton Hall, Sandyford, Dublin. He lived with his family at Bolinrush, Newtownbarry (now known as Bunclody) Co. Wexford. His parents are James Kavanagh, Rathpierce and Catherine Kavanagh, Aughnamaulmeen.

Family lore has it that Patrick moved to Liverpool about 1900 +/- 3 years. He was supposedly married and had at least one child.

Family lore also has it that Patrick and a colleague were struck by lightning during a thunder storm, killing his colleague and that Patrick lost the use of an arm/hand as a result.

Does any of this ring any bells?

Thanks a million for the links Garstonite, I will order these certificates, hopefully these will unlock something for me. I have been searching http://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/ for the lightning strike, but nothing there yet :-(

The Patrick Kavanagh who married Margaret Hill Rea was born 1876 Liverpool and has a middle name of Francis so I think you can discount that one.

I thought I had marriage certificate but it was her mum's sorry.

Finally getting back to my brick wall 
I have spent considerable time searching the British Newspaper Archives for Patrick and a lightning strike / injury without any success.

Searching the Census, I have the following Possible Matches
1891 # 37 Denlugh St, Bootle, Bootle, Lancashire. O’Leary family, Patrick Kavanagh aged 22 is listed as boarder.

1901 4, Hague Street, North Manchester, Prestwich. Bagshaw family, again Patrick Cavanagh aged 31 a builder’s labourer is listed as a Boarder.
