David Haggart Mary Crockett

I'm looking for info on David Haggart who married Mary Crockett 1825 Alyth, Perthshire. On his son Roberts ( born 1840) marriage cert to Margaret Nicol Robert has put his sons name as Mary, it's also Mary on the census records that I've seen yet on Roberts death cert his mums name is down as Janet Crockett. Im thinking that this is possibly a mistake or something?
Now I'm trying to track his father David Haggart, I haven't been able to find out anything on him myself but I've seen a tree on ancestry that says he was born around 1803 in Cults, Fife. Another person also had his death as 1857 Markinch with mothers name as Jean Crockart, so I bought this death cert on SP and I make out the mothers name to be Jean Crawford. Could somebody please help me determine if this is the correct death date for my David Haggart so I could possibly take my line further?

Maybe they moved area after this up to your Robert's birth. Cannot see his old parish birth or christening. Not all registers have survived before 1855 and the start of official registration in Scotland in 1855.

That is always a problem    Scott has been back on RC in mid October. Not everyone activates alerts on new postings, so, be hopeful you will get a response soon  Scott is so enthused by his Haggart research, he will I am sure Molly be very happy to find your posts...when he sees them
