hi if anybody could maybe help,im searching for the parents and family of Ted Smith,born in leicester 1911? mothers maiden name Morgan,ted later married margaret esther walters,im having trouble finding his parents names and at this stage im unable to order a marrriage certificate,thanks in advance

Freebmd has a 1907 marriage in Leics for a John William Smith - female names on the same page are Elizabeth Morgan and Frances Johnson  www.freebmd.org.uk

You could check the 1911 census for a John William Smith in Leics to see if wife was Elizabeth

thanks,it says on the 1911 censusthat she was a daughter from a previous marriage so im wondering now wether elizabeths maiden name was morgan or it was her first marriage name,the plot thickens

You would need to buy a copy of the 1907 marriage cert to find her previous marital status (if any) and her fathers name.  I can't see a 1901 entry for Florence or Elizabeth nor can I see an 1891 for Elizabeth.

There is an Ann Morgan widow with an 8yr old daughter Florence in Leics in 1901 and Ann is 32 which ties in with Elizabeth's 1911 age

Another alternative is a copy of Florence's birth cert.  If Elizabeth was previously married - it will show her maiden name and also her husbands name on the birth cert
