I think it says Boument Square, Greton Street, Camberwell. However, a quick search doesn't bring up either. Possibly renamed at some point? A lot of London was reshaped after WWII.

It's from the First World War Army record for Alfred Ernest Hoppins Arnold who served as 52786  Driver Ernest Arnold RE (1889-1964). He was born in Camberwell but lived most of his life and died in Carmarthenshire.

Later on in the record his mother has another address at Camberwell Green.

On the form B103 (image 8828 on Ancestry) his mother's address is recorded as 4 Belmont Square, Siston Street, Camberwell. Should be Picton Street, I think.

Ellen Arnold is at 4 Belmont Square SE5 in the electoral rolls for 1920-22

Its a crazy one. The start looks to be similar to the E of SE , yet as ShaunJ has spotted- with his record set-  it also bears resemblance to the S in street - its like 2 letters were conjoined.

Belmont Square, Picton Street, Camberwell SE5. We lived at number 5 after WW2. The suare was behind a Victorian block in Picton Street. It had been the stables and grooms accomodation in earlier days and was entered via a coach arch in the middle of th ebuilding.

There is no street called Greton or Square call Bor....  in Camberwell. Would put this done to one person talking and another writing it down.
