There is a family story that one of my Great Aunts was a Missionary and I'd like to check it out.  Can anyone point me in the right direction where to start looking?

My own family is simply heaving with missionaries [American, Congregationalist].  They are hard to track because they were out of the country so much of the time.  On the other hand, since they had to raise money to support themselves and their missions, there were many magazines and bulletins which published inspirational articles about their work.  A lot of this material [at least the American stuff] can be found by a Google Book search.  I have found quite a few newspaper articles, too - when they returned to the US from time to time to raise funds by giving talks to church groups.

Here are some links which might be helpful:

The Mundus Gateway is a web-based guide to more than four hundred collections of overseas missionary materials held in the United Kingdom. http://www.mundus.ac.uk/
