Fixed that up.. sorry.  :-[ :-[

Good question about James. Not found him in 1861 yet. Or John Edward.

I did find a John Edward BRITTEN marrying in 1882 in Paris to an Alice Frances E E PETHERICK,  but again, no proof it's the right man.

Hi Karenlee and keyboard86,  Thanks for all your hard work in such a short time. Yes, I have been toying with Clara Ann for some time and now she seems to fit perfectly. I have since found John Edward b1851. As James A.C. he was my Great Grand father he married Annie Curtis so he's not a problem. The big problem is John c1813, there is a John Britain 1808 that may fit, he could have changed the spelling when he got married. I think that Berkshire records office may have some info on him so they told me but their methods for payment are as old as their records in that they don't accept online payment by visa. Anyhow thank you both for all your valuable information.

Hi again, yes I can see that marriage of James,  but can you figure out why John b 1851 and James b 1855 are not with Maria and Clara A in 1861?

Found a marriage for John Edward to Alice F.S.S. Pethersek in 1882 but then they disappear into the ether, right area but not enough to be sure.

Hi again, Scorpio Rising, have you had any thoughts on the whereabouts of John 1851 and James 1855 in 1861?

Also is their any relevance to James being the only apparent Britten child without a simple/common middle name/s?
