Can't see any suitable baptisms for James on the disc.

It looks as though there were at least 3 Raynor/Rayner families in East Markham in the early 1700s - baptisms between 1702 - 1708 with fathers named Alexander, Thomas and William.
Bradbury (Sedgeley, Bilston, Warrington)
Cooper (Sedgeley, Bilston)
Kilner/Kilmer (Leic, Notts)
Greenfield (Liverpool)
Holyland (Anywhere and everywhere, also Holiland Holliland Hollyland)
Pryce/Price (Welshpool, Liverpool)
Rawson (Leicester)
Upton (Desford, Leics)
Partrick (Vera and George, Leicester)
Marshall (Westmorland, Cheshire/Leicester)

I can't see any baptisms for James on my disc under any parish. However I think mine might not be the most up to date disc from the FHS (not sure about that!) so if anyone else got a copy for Xmas, it might be worth rechecking! ;)

There are actually 2 marriages for James at East Markham, but no way of knowing if they were the same person - I can't see a burial for wife no. 1:
1717 04 25   James RAYNOR   and    Ann   MOSSLEY
1723 11 12   James RAYNER   and    Rebecca   PETTINGER
there are no children listed for James and Ann at East Markham  (but see below)

EDITED: Expanding the search a little, I found 1 James Raynor, baptised at Bilborough St John the Baptist:
1687 02 20   Son   James   father Kirk    REYNER
(other baptisms at Bilborough at this time give father's name as Nicholas, and this line of Rayners clearly had longterm links with Strelley and Bilborough)

whether this is any help at all might be debatable. The Bilborough records contain 3 baptisms with James Rayner as father between 1710 - 1716, all apparently carried out at Strelley, then one in 1825 where the mother is listed as Anne - very confusing as the earlier births are before the marriage of James and Ann, and that last one is after James has married Rebecca - must be more than one James here!!

James and Rebecca's children:
1724 00 00   Jane   (date unreadable)
1727 12 23   John
1729 12 27   Rebekah
1733 00 00   Geo.   (Date unreadable)
1736 05 16   Sarah
1739 03 15   Tho.
1743 04 03   William
1746 04 06   Joseph   (dob 1746 03 03)

It seems odd that none of these was called James, after the father -- unless he had a surviving son from a previous marriage already called James?

I have the latest version of the CD and there is a gap in the baptism records for East Markham from 1672 - 1702.  Hopefully if someone is visiting the RO they will check the original records for you.
