Help needed!
Has anyone come across the name William Lehrie from Edinburgh. I have a mention of him in 1788 and 1789, many thanks.
Stirling in Scotland, Baker Street in Stirling.

Stirling,  there were folk called Lerchie in Alloa, glassworkers from Bohemia. Emanuel Lerchie, Ochil Street, glass engraver, 43, b.1838 Bohemia & Stephen Lerchie, Ochil Street, glass stainer, 18, b.1863 Edinburgh. Presumably father & son.

Name again, I should say, he didn't write this, so it could be that someone has written the name down as it it sounds, Lehrie

Spellings were very fluid at this time for sure.

This wasn't from a marriage certificate, in fact its from an old minute book of 1788, hence the reason he didn't sign his own name. Monica, I've following up the Lerrree lead, the date and location are right, thanks EV. I'll let you know.
