Where is James Slack buried?
« on: Sunday 10 January 16 17:15 GMT (UK) »
I have been searching for 3 years to find where James Slack is buried and wonder if anyone  is going to the record office and can  do a search for me please.  James was born around 1824 .  On the 1841 & 51 census it says that he was born in Norbury Staffordshire, I think it could be Knotbury, as on the following census' it says he was born in Wildborclough Macclesfield Cheshire.  Knotbury is very near Wildborclough.  James Married Margaret Kemp in 1854 and they lived in Dirty Lane Sutton Macclesfield Cheshire, and was a calico printer.  He died on the 13th February 1898, which I know is right, as I have his inquest report, and a copy of his death cert.    I have been trying to find his place of birth and also who his parents were for nearly 3 years,  and even after joining Ancestry I have had no luck.  I cannot get any farther without this information. Please can anyone help.   Thankyou.

A thought - as you are talking 1898, could it be a burial in cemetery or cremation?  www.cheshireeast.gov.uk website say that they have an office in Macclesfield, and as you have most of the essential elements - name, address and exact date of death, it might be an idea to contact them.

You've got a lot of earlier posts on the same topic  :)
Could you post links to them, or summarize possible burial places you have already eliminated?

Hi Eileen,

It is important on RootsChat that you add the persons name that you are researching to all your headings on RootsChat as it helps you and other find your posts. (I have just added a name to your other post.)

To review your posts click on the profile button at the top of RootsChat, then select account summary and if you look to the left you will see "email notifications" this shows you all your RootsChat topics. If you reply to any of these topics you are then able to update the research to where you are upto now and what you wish to try and find out next this then keeps all the research together for others to read.

Regards

Sarah :)
