Alexander Fleming Richmond
« on: Tuesday 26 January 16 11:20 GMT (UK) »
Having had tremendous help tracing the daughter, I wonder if anyone could wave magic wand over the fate of her father?  Alexander Fleming Richmond (born 1874 in Montrose Scotland).  He moved to Canada and was in the Expeditionary force.  He married, had 2 children.  Wife died, kids went in to care.  The last record I have for him is a possible border crossing from Canada to US, aged 47, saying he is going to live with his brother in New York.  Trail goes cold.  No death for him that I can find.
Any help very welcome

Do you have any further information about Alexander's brother or any other surviving siblings?

Reply #3 mentions border crossing and  going to his brother Andrew Richmond at 93 14 St New York New York.

The border crossing record:  https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QKQ9-9JVN

This appears to be birth record of his brother Andrew.

I think Andrew's address is missing whether it is East 14th Street or West 14th Street.  There's probably a 93 for both parts of the street.

Yes, I could never get to the bottom of whether Andrew living in New York was his brother, as I knew he and his large family were in Woolwich in 1911, and I was never able to find a crossing for them to the US.  I thought maybe he might have gone over to US alone for work, leaving the family in England.  Maybe the 'Andrew' given as the contact person for the border passage wasn't really a brother, maybe just a friend.
