Hi found another census/baptism for you:-

Baptism Thomas Hughes 4th April 1852 St Mary, Bilston Father Thomas occ Puddler Mother Dorothy

1861 Census

Thomas Hughes 49 occ Labourer in Iron Works b Bilston
Hannah 48 b Burton on Trent, Derbyshire
Henry?/William 13 b Bilston
Thomas 9 b Sedgley
Residing at Bilston Road, Wolverhampton
Census Ref RG09/1996/78/4

So it would appear the "pet" name of Dorothy was Hannah?!

Thanks so much to you both for looking into this for me!

I think you could be right and Hannah could be a pet name,i assume it must be because I can't find any trace of her otherwise linking to Thomas and the children!
