Death certificate issued in Germany, 1945.

How do I obtain a death certificate for a Briton who died in Germany in late 1945, in Regensburg, possibly in the Displaced Persons Camp?

I would start with the GRO consular deaths index. If the name is there, you can order a certificate from the UK authorities. The index is searchable on FindMyPast and TheGenealogist, and also on familyrelatives.com if memory serves me right.

Ancestry and TheGenealogist also have  German and Swiss records of British nationals who died in Germany around that time (from TNA RG32/31).

CWGC might be worth checking too.

Or you can post the name here and we'll help with the search.
