Robert DENNISON
« on: Tuesday 16 February 16 08:14 GMT (UK) »
Ref my earlier posting I have not found anything more about his rope making business but have been left with some gaps. He was baptised in Dec 1813 in Rutland and only his mother, Sarah(widow) is recorded. I believe her maiden name was COLEMAN and that she married a John DENNISON in the 1790s he apparantly died before Robert was born and she subsequently married a John LITTLEDYKE. Unfortunately I have not been able to trace these events. Can anyone help please?

There is a marriage between a Sarah Coleman and a John Denison 31st Jan 1792 in Holborn

Then there is a marriage for a Sarah Dennison to a John Littledike 11th August 1814 in Great Casterton

I am struggling with the Holborn, London location for the first marriage. She was a Lincolnshire born and bred girl so I can't be sure of that one but thanks.

Hi mickawinn

I have Sarah's father noted as Thomas Carter.  It is on the Parish Register when
she married William Ward in 1840, at Barnack - after John Littledike's death.

John Littledike and Sarah are my 4xGt Grandparents.
(My line being through their daughter Maria, b.1824, who married Edward Newborn).

Regards.  Carole

Hi Carole
I have your Maria along with 7 other Littledikes from the Lincolnshire Parish registers. I cannot find her marriage to William Ward. Which PR is it in please?

Hi Mick

Can you access the Barnack, Northamptonshire Parish Records for November 1840?    Barnack is, maybe three or so miles away from Stamford, but falls under Northamptonshire.  This may be how you haven't found the marriage, if you were solely looking at Lincolnshire.

I have a screenshot of the marriage record, but can't see how to upload it for you.  (I found it on Ancestry.co.uk if that helps you).

Regards.   Carole

Hi Carole
Thanks, I thought Barnack was in Cambridgeshire, got it now. Also wrongly transcribed as William Word on freebmd but have now found it. Are the number of children correct?
Regards
Mick
