Wickhambreaux Parish Registers
« on: Sunday 21 February 16 11:01 GMT (UK) »
I wonder if anyone can help me with a check in the the Wickhambreaux registers please?

Family Search has a burial in May 1779 for a John Larkin with the additional information that his parents are John Larkin and Elizabeth Morgan.  One entry says 2 May and the other 12 May.

I suspect the parents names are from a submission to FS but I would like to be certain whether there is in fact any additional information in the PR entry.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Not from PR's but looking at the entries on familysearch and using the film numbers in the library catalogue all three entries appear to come from Bishops Transcripts or Archdeacons transcripts. They don't appear to be member submissions

The Wickhambreaux Register reads as follows:-

John base-born son of John Larkins & Elizabeth Morgan, from Beeksbourn (sic) bur May 2nd.

Hope this is what you are looking for.

Regards,
Tony

Thank you Rosie and Tony.

Rosie it is interesting that I didn't find the burial on FMPs transcripts of the Archdeaconry of Canterbury burials which is why I was wondering where the information had come from.

Tony that is really useful thank you so much.  I must admit I am now really confused though!

I have a John Larkin who married Elizabeth Morgan in Cranbrook on 27 March 1733.  It appears this must be another pair with the same/similar name albeit not married.

Barbara,

I am not sure if it will ever appear on Find my Past.  What happened was that, when whoever filmed the Register, they jumped a page!  It was reported to the Archive Staff at Canterbury Cathedral when, I found a burial of personal interest on the same page.  I got a copy of the said page and that is how I was able to give you the entry detail.

I think the problem is solved as I found this:

Information from Archdeacons Transcripts

Wickhambreaux

John the son of Elizabeth Morgan was baptised April the 4 1779

Now back to solving my original problem as to where John Larkin and his wife came from!

Thanks for that information Tony.

Pages missed during filming are a regular problem I find! So glad that you had a an entry on that missing page  :)

I was looking for online Wickhambreaux as I was sure that I had found some of mine at some time. I originally looked at the register at a family history centre a few years back.

Glad its sorted anyway
