Margaret Ann Young
« on: Friday 11 March 16 12:52 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find information relating to my Great Grandmother, Margaret Ann Young born in Licoln in 1884. I believe that her father was John Henry Young, a Policeman born in 1860.
Margaret married Archibald Thomas Patterson Scougal a soldier who died around 1900.
Any information will be much appreciated

They had one daughter Margaret Winifred Windra(e)m Patterson Scougal born in Edinburgh Barracks in 1902. Enquiries to the Edinburgh Registry office drew a blank
Archie was a serving soldier. I can find no census or records of any kind for him. He died between 1902 and 1912 because in that year Margaret Ann married Thomas Cutter in Tynemouth. I believe that the Scougal family came from that area as did the Windrems.
That marriage may not have lasted because Margaret moved to West Cumberland where she lived for a long time with Robert Millward. Though she was buried a Millward I can find no proof of tehm marrying

The 1911 does not give Margarets place of birth as Lincoln / Lincolnshire  ???

Her age in 1901 was given as 23 (boarding in Edinburgh with a son Archibald aged 1).  As I said earlier, the 1884 DoB seemed unlikely if she married in 1896.  :-\

Other points that still need addressing -

Surname - if ATPS married CHAMBERS, who was YOUNG?

Where did Lincoln come from?
