William Busby Arncott Oxfordshire born 1798?

I am trying to trace William Busby who according to the 1861 census was born in 1798 at Arncott. Other censuses give birth dates of 1792 and 1806. I would be very grateful for any help i n tracing him.

Arncott is a chapelry of Ambrosden, so their parish records are included with those of that parish.

Ambrosden baptisms (1611-1818) can be found on the Family Search website (Batch No. C024102).  Although there are several BUSBY baptisms there between 1775 and 1809 (various parents), there's no sign of your William.

Neighbouring parishes to Arncott are Piddington, Charlton-on-Otmoor, Ambrosden, Merton and Blackthorn.  It should also be noted that Arncott is right on the county boundary with Buckinghamshire.  It may therefore be useful to continue your researches in these parishes/county.

I did find the following baptism at Charlton-on-Otmoor (on Family Search):

23 JUN 1810 - William BUSBY, s. John and Ann

and this one might be worth investigating further.

It's a bit confusing. I know he married Elizabeth Wormleighton at Burbage, Leicestershire in 1828. He subsequently moved to the Sutton Coldfield area. In the 1841 census his d.o.b is 1806 and his occupation is roadman. In the 1851census his d.o.b is 1801 and place is Stoneley, Warwickshire. In the 1861 census his d.o.b is 1806 and place is Arncott. In the 1871 census his d.o.b is 1792 and place is Oxfordshire but no town.
I was hoping that Arncott was the correct place of birth as there was a Busby family in the area but I don,t know.
