Cassinelli

I am trying without success to find the birth record of John Cassinelli who was born c1873 at Sheffield.
He appears on the 1881 census with his widowed father Antonio at Smithfield, Sheffield.
Antonio and his wife Elizabeth (died 1876) had a lot of children and baptism records show them at St. Vincents Catholic church, but not John's, nor can I find civil registration. Subsequent records, after John married Emma Ibbotson show his name as Joannis, Italian equivalent of John.
I can't find anything under that name and have tried various spellings.
Any help would be most appreciated

Sounds like he could have been born abroad - what does he have for birthplace on later census?

There is a Givanni Cossinelli registered Sheffield Sept. Quarter 1872 Volume 9c page 346.

Thanks both, his birthplace is given as Sheffield.
I'll try St Vincents and see if I can see the Givanni Cossineli shown in Sept 1872

Joannis is actually Latin for John, and used in RC church records.   Giovanni is the Italian equivalent of John so the birth entry found by sandyq looks spot on.
