George Cooper, Bay horse pub ,stockton on Forest
« on: Monday 28 March 16 17:38 BST (UK) »
Is anyone able to help me?
I am searching for George Cooper who was a blacksmith and victualler in Stockton on Forest

I have his son James Cooper, also a blacksmith born in Rawcliffe in 1804 and married Mary Beal, a widow on 4.9.1840 in York. Her maiden name was Nightingale. She was born in Stockton on forest in 1811. Their children were
Isabella
Mary
Sarah Mary
Thomas James
Matthew
John William also born in Stockton

I do not know Georges date or place of birth or the name of his wife
I would be most grateful for any help

The attached burial record may be George Cooper's burial. Unfortunately I can not find anything on George or James

James's wife Mary was buried at Stockton-on-the Forest in 1873. Her first husband George Beal was also buried there on 13 June 1839

Thank you for this info Jay. These are definitely the family. Im sorry but i made a mistake and George Cooper being a blacksmith and the victualler at the Bay Horse was in Skelton not Stockton on Forest although they ended up there. Are you able to find anything relating to Skelton?
