Luke Maudsley baptism
« on: Tuesday 26 April 16 16:27 BST (UK) »
I have a look up request for the Maudsley family on the Lancashire board and have got as far as Luke Maudsley born in Ingleton, N Yorkshire 13 Nov 1803.

He has a brother William born 8 Sept 1802. Their father is given as Henry.

I would love to know who both his parents were and have searched all the main genealogy sites with no luck.

Does anyone know if there is anywhere else I could search please?

There is a marriage at Long Preston - 16 October 1792

Henry Maudsley of Clapham and Alice Procter otp married by Licence.

Allegation says that Henry is 22 and Alice is 25.

Added:  that is Clapham in the West Riding, not London  :-* :-*

This sounds good.

Just looked up Ingleton where Luke was baptised and see that Clapham & Long Preston are on the same road quite close to each other. I am not familiar with this area.

Also found a baptism for a Henry Maudsley 12/8/1770 in Giggleswick with parents Robert
& Elizabeth of Cravenrigg which sounds promising. That would tie in with the marriage date.

Thank you for pointing me in this direction.
