Now I come to think of it I have two birth registrations myself one with my original christian name and the other two years later that has been amended with my new christian name and a small note on the side to say when my original registration was lodged. With a bit of maneuvering I could convince the world I was two years younger. But 10 would be better.

Cheers Heather

Hi all
This is a mystery to me. My own N.Z. birth has been registered 3 times. 2 times in 1960 with different surnames and again in 1964(adoption). I was wondering why when i was born i would have been registered under 2 surnames. One, my mothers maiden name and the other being her surname prior to divorce.Last one after remarriage in 1961, which was clear as i was adopted. Possibly someone out there might be able to shed some light.

Not registered twice, just referenced twice.

There is not anything to abnormal.

Why not ring the BMD and find out what they say about it.
