I have already a lot of info on the Chandlers of Hunts/Cambs but I really would like help with any info on Anthony Chandler b 1715 Hatley St George, Parents or Brothers/Sisters.

If I could help anyone with this surname in the Hatley's or Gt Gransden,London (Norwood Surrey,Edmonton) I would be only to pleased to help.

Hi 1715

Welcome to Rootschat.

Anthony Chandler was my 5xg grandfather and in addition to what seems to be half of the USA I too would like to know where he was from! He married Mary Soles in 1732 in Gt Paxton, but I wasn't aware that he was from Hatley St George.  If he was then he should be in the parish register. There's no trace of either of them in Gt Paxton parish register. I think that as he was married in 1732 he was probably born a bit prior to 1715 so you'll need to change your sign on name!

Who do you descend from in the Chandlers? I descend from Anthony's son Edward and his son William who married Elizabeth Boud at Gt Gransden.

I'll send you a personal message in the morning (I live in France and it's getting a bit late here!

Best regards

David

Hi David

My name is Mark by the way.  I have Anthony born 1715-1719 and married to Mary Soles in 1742 not 1732? and also not in Gt Paxton, I know that they had moved there.  their son Edward and his children had lived in Hatley St George,East Hatley or Cockayne Hatley

I descend from Anthony 7xG-Edward his son William- his son David-Frederick-Frederick E-and my Grand Father Alfred Russel Chandler.

I have a few gaps you might be able to fill in for me? it would be great if you could help.

Kind Regards

Mark

Hi Mark

I've not followed your line down after the various children of David and Kezia.

I think the marriage date is definitely 1732 in Gt Paxton - I took it from the parish register, and it accords with what all the American researchers have (which doesn't always mean a lot as they seem to copy each other and perpetuate errors). They had three children prior to 1742.

Edward was baptised in Gt Paxton, married Mary Nash on 13 Apr 1770 at Wrestlingworth Beds, where their first son John was baptised on 6 May 1770 (on IGI as Chandus) before moving to Cockayne Hatley.

I can send you an extract from my tree, but I'll send you a personal message.

Regards

David
