finding wills
« on: Thursday 21 July 05 07:07 BST (UK) »
I have been searching the Documents on line website and have found acouple of wills on there.  If a will for a particular person is not on that site does that mean they didn't write/have a will or could there be other places I should be looking.
The will would have been Middlesex/London 1852/1853.

Thanks,
Jennean

Hi Jennean,

There are other places you could look.  The documentsonline index only covers wills proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, the ultimate court for wills before 1858.

Have a look at the Genuki pages for both Middlesex and London for links about probate.  This should help you decide the possible locations for a will, if your ancestor made one.
