The marriage of a Kathleen Williams, likely to be in Willesden, Middlesex:

Hey everyone,

I am trying to find some more info on my great great uncle and his children.

Henry George Williams was married to Kathleen Fielding and they had three children (Kathleen and Henry separated and Kathleen re-married a Mr Ryan).

Kathleen Williams - born 1923
Henry George Williams - born 1925
Elizabeth Williams - born 1927

I have the birth certs for all three of the kids. I know that Elizabeth died in 1950 aged just 23 (TB). However, I am trying to find more info on Kathleen. I have looked for a marriage but there are too many Kathleen Williams marrying in London 1947 +- 10years to be sure. Can anyone suggest what my next move should be?

Hi, have you tried finding them on the 1939 register, if you have birth dates, they are possibly still with mother?

I have the mum Kathleen and the daughter Elizabeth. There are two records blanked out, and I am guessing these are Kathleen Jnr and Henry Jnr. I don't think they show the record if the person died after 1991?

Do you know when her father died?  If so, did he leave a Will. If so, may well mention his surviving children, and if Kathleen was married by the time he wrote it, then you will find her married name, or if not, then will at least rule that out or narrow down when she ay have married if she did.


Who were witnesses when mum remarried? Was Kathleen any of them?

Kathleen Fielding re-married to a Matthew Ryan in Willesden, London in 1941. I have the marriage cert and it shows that she was seperated form Henry George Williams.

Presumably it shows that previous marriage was dissolved, rather than they were just separated, otherwise she wouldn't be free to remarry.

I have the marriage cert at home and will let you know what it says fully when I get in. From memory, it was something like "Kathleen Fielding formerly the wife of Henry George Williams from which she is legally seperated"
