sisters Elizabeth Margaret and Eleanor Jones
« on: Wednesday 08 June 16 18:15 BST (UK) »
Can someone please help: An entry in the Brithdir School log book reads; Elizabeth M Jones and Eleanor Jones absent on Thursday and Friday (18th and 19th 1900) because their father is very ill.  On the following Thursday (25 Jan 1900) a half-day holiday was granted in the afternoon because the teachers wished to attend the funeral of Elizabeth and Eleanor's father who was buried at Bedwelty Church.  The sisters were both pupil teachers at Brithdir.  I've checked the 1901 census for Brithdir but the family are not residing there; likely to be residing in the neighbourhood.  I live in Caerphilly and find it difficult to get to Gwent Archives so if anyone as access to the Bedwelty burial registers can they please look for a burial at Bedwelty Church.  I don't know the father's first name and that would be a great help
Thanks

Hello Cas and Kay
I should have gone to Spec Savers!!!! Just rechecked 1901 for Ivy Row; and there it was staring me in the face, how I missed it I just don't know.  Sorry for troubling you.  Many thanks for the info on
David Ellis Jones, that is most appreciated.

Best wishes to both

Hi Kay
Regarding the burial of David Ellis Jones; I've searched newspapers online for his death or obituary but no luck there.  I was wondering if the source where you found his burial details did it give cause of death?
