Maldon Parish Records - find the Burial of William Henry Hermitage
« on: Tuesday 28 June 16 10:14 BST (UK) »
I haven't had much to do with Parish Records, are they all on ancestry? I'm trying to trace my great great grandfathers burial and it's not in any of the 3 cemeteries belonging to the council so they've said to try parishes. Is there a best place to find these for Maldon?

If you click on 'report to moderator' you can ask for this topic to be moved to the correct board for 'local' help (wherever Maldon is).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hello Claravale,

I am guessing that you mean Maldon in Essex so I have moved your post here.. What was your Great Grandfathers name and where have you already tried ?

Regards

Sarah

Yes I assume it is I only know he died in Maldon in 1936. His name William Henry Hermitage. I looked up local parishes for the area and have emailed them but had nothing back plus not knowing which parish it would be, haven't long been doing the tree so Parish Records are a whole new ball game for me.

Maldon parish records are on Essex Record Office website SEAX, it is a subscription site.

Do you know that he actually died in Maldon, or was his death registered in Maldon?

I guess I don't officially, could that be the case that his death was just registered there? All I know is I've been told Maldon but his wife was Hendon seemingly again not 100% accurate I guess.

The death was definitely registered in Maldon. But there were about 25 parish churches in that district, together with numerous non-conformist churches.
