Mary, Mary, quite contrary!

Hi, I am trying to find information about Mary Lake who was married to John Bennett. It is possible that she married him on 10 June 1782 at St David, Exeter, Devon. She may have been born in 1750 or 1760. They had a daughter, Martha, in 1799. If anyone could confirm any of this (or give further details such as parents or other offspring) I would be most grateful, thanks :)

The Mary Lake that married 10th June 1782 married a Roger LETHERBARROW a soldier  :(

Did she definitely marry a John Bennett then ?

Can't see a Martha Bennett born 1799 either??

Yes, the husband is definitely John Bennett and the daughter is definitely Martha. Was the Letherbarrow marriage at St David's?

I was given the information by someone on Ancestry; looks like it was wrong :(

Martha was born in North Stoke, Oxfordshire, not Devon

Hi

I've looked at various trees on Anc* and each have conflicting records. It's best to do your own research because I'm not altogether sure which if any of those trees has the correct information.

They all seem to agree that the family were born in North Stoke.

EDIT: The last sentence I should have said the child ( MARTHA) of John and Mary was born in South Stoke

A few of the trees have no mother recorded.
One has mother named but wasn't Lake.

Currently on my phone so can't access what I found last night.
