Chelsea Pensioner help
« on: Tuesday 26 July 16 11:04 BST (UK) »
I hope someone can point me in the right direction here
On my 3x g grandfather death certificate in 1875 it states his father was James Gordon deceased Chelsea Pensioner the only other thing I know about my 4x g grandfather is he married Jean Dorward in 1802 in Lunan Angus Scotland and his son was born about 1804 in Craig by Montrose Angus There's a possible 1841 census record of them living in Brechin stating he was born outside of the county and his wife was born in Angus
Would this be enough information to trace any records relating to him and are they online thanks

The Musters (1813) has 2 James Gordon's of the 1st. Regt.
to differentiate the clerk has listed one as a labourer from Ayr & the other as a tailor from Montrose.
Unfortunately there are about a dozen James Gordon's serving in the Army at this time.
