John Mahony family info?

I am looking for information on John Mahony, his family, and his parentage if possible. He was born in 1817 in Ireland, married Mary Hegarty in 1839 in Wales, and had a son named James Mahoney in 1842, in Melbourne, Australia.

Please help if possible, and thank you very much in advance!

The 1839 marriage certificate should give details of his father unless he was illegitimate.

Was there anything else that exists to help find more family? I had that marriage already and helped me confirm that this is the family I'm after.

The actual marriage certificate should list his father's name and occupation (unless illegitimate as Rosie has already mentioned).

However, to find Irish records you will need more information such as religion and location (parish if not actual townland).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Why does it say '26 114'?

What does that represent?
