Help to find people on US 1870 and 1890 census
« on: Friday 19 August 16 20:54 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have a Henry J Young (b.1843 Ohio) and a Marion McLarty (b.1845 England/Scotland) getting married in Chatfield, Minnesota in 1867.

I cannot find them on the 1870 US census, they had a daughter Alice around 1867 that would also be present on it.

I have Henry's death in 1889, but cannot find Marion and Alice on the 1890 census.

On the 1875, 1880 & 1885 census's they were living in Jordan, Fillmore.

I have Marion on the 1895 census alone, living in Chatfield, not sure if Alice died or was married by then.

Marion died in Chatfield in 1923 and obit does not mention Alice, so assuming she died, but would be interested to see if she was still alive in 1890 census.

Thanks

Just as a starter, most of the 1890 census was destroyed by fire so there is almost nothing left of it.
