Fermoy Soldiers
« on: Saturday 27 August 16 16:38 BST (UK) »
Rummaging through a box of old Fermoy photos I came across these five pics that I've grouped together here. The photographer's 'Excelsior' studio was in Cork but I suspect the men are all from Fermoy. Does anyone recognize any of the men? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Possibly Irish Free State Army. Not just after creation as they used ex British uniforms at first. The dark collars and cuffs do not look British.

Someone on the Photography section should be able to date the hair styles.

Thanks for this Ken. My wife and I had pondered that they might be Irish Free State but were not at all sure. It will be fun to see if anyone actually recognizes any of the men:)
