James Hacke Walton-in-Gordano
« on: Monday 29 August 16 18:37 BST (UK) »
I have found an ancestor James Hacke also shown as Jabos Hack born 1751/53 in Walton-in-Gordano. James was married to Betty Blackmore
But am trying to find his father who may be John.

But there is a German connection somewhere. Maybe in the 1600's. Any suggestions for finding the missing link from 1751/52.

It would be someone who was born in Germany but lived in England. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kath

Walton-in-Gordano is just outside Clevedon (It's my home neck of the woods!).

So you might want to look at Clevedon Civic Society?
www.clevedon-civic-society.org.uk, and click on "records".

Lots and lots of Hack baptisms! ;D

..actually there are Hack baptisms all over the place :), don't think the German connection is with Hack/Hacke

Thank you all for your helpful suggestions. I will take them up.
Actually there are loads of Hacks/Hacke/Haacke people on the German website so it is a German name as well.

Thanks again
