Isabella Quaite
« on: Friday 16 September 16 14:52 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find an Isabella Quaite on the 1911 Irish Census. In 1901 she is living at 36 Townsend Street Upper as a sister-in-law to Robert Henry Brown, her age is given as 55, she is married, her occupation is a spinner and her religion is Church of Ireland.  I am assuming that her maiden name was Nesbitt as this was the maiden name for Robert's wife Mary Jane (there was also a brother Charles Nesbitt). As yet I have not found a marriage record that could provide me with the name of a potential husband. The father of Mary Jane and Charles was called Allen Nesbitt.

I did find a Belfast burial record for an Isabella Quaite dated 14 June 1928, died aged 80 with a last place of residence given as 80 Old Lodge Road. Grave section E1 230.

Could Matilda / Isabella be the same person?

An Isabella Nesbitt of 161 Wilton Street Belfast married a William Foreman on 8 March 1870, her father was called Allen Nesbitt, a labourer and the two witnesses were... Robert Henry Brown and Mary Jane Brown.  The couple had these three children from 1870-1874 (note Mary Jane Brown present for the first):

Ha! Previously mentioned grave E1 230 of Belfast City Cemetery also contains William Foreman (and other Foremans / relatives):

Thanks gaffy and dathai, that explains why I couldn't find her to begin with due to Quaite being her second marriage
